Check On Them

When is the last time you checked on a friend, coworker, or family member? I mean check in with them….not asking how’s your day but how is your mental health? Ask them is there anything on your mind you want to talk about? Simply asking a coworker if they need to talk about a bad call they took they might be stressing over.

Our center was hit with some shocking news this week one of our former coworkers committed suicide. It was a shocking reminder to me that we need to check on one another more often. You never know what’s going on in a person’s life.

It’s our job as humans, friends, loved ones to check on each other. Tho that person you have checked on might not want to talk you still have opened that door for them to talk if they want to at some point. You have told them you care when at a time they might not think anyone cares about them. Depression/Anxiety plans mind games with you, it’s our job to show people that someone cares!

Now if you are reading this and feel like you want to harm yourself I am asking you not to! I am asking you to reach out to someone, talk about what you are going through, and lean on someone! Your life matters! Your family wants you in it! Your friends want you in their life! People care about you!! Your. Life. Matters.

Please remember that it’s our job as humans to show people we love them. To show others that no matter what they are going through there is someone there to listen and be a support when they need it most! We need to show love and compassion because life is too short and we don’t need to go sooner than we were meant to go! Show love! Show compassion! Most of all show people that we are wanted in someone’s life!
